TruCycle is a stepwise evaluation of the recyclability or
compostability of product packaging. TruCycle is offered in
a standard or customized format based on client needs.

HOW IT WORKS

RECYCLABILITY COMPOSTABILITY

COLLECTION: Assess inclusion/exclusion of packaging in community recycling programs.

SORTABILITY: Evaluate packaging’s movement through MRF and probability of inclusion in correct bale.

END MARKETS: Assess compatibility of package design and the marketability of the bale for reprocessors

COLLECTION: Assess material acceptance at community organics programs.

COMPOSTABILITY: Evaluate material compatibility with composter configurations.

END MARKETS: Determine the acceptability of the 90- to 120- day finished compost to end users by evaluating nutrient value, resale value or use.

THE RESULT

RRS delivers a detailed account of how compatible a
material is with each life cycle stage of the analysis, along
with a high-level summary in a report card format.

ACTIONABLE BENEFITS

Develop complete understanding of recyclability or compostability of the packaging.

Develop informed internal and external recyclability or compostability communications.

Confirm existing, or influence new, design-for-recyclability or design-for-compostability innovation success.

Customize the assessment or combine with a screening level life cycle assessment (LCA).

TRUCYCLE INTERNATIONAL

TruCycle International is based in a location outside of the U.S. and includes a solid waste and recycling overview in addition to the traditional TruCycle assessment.
