Biography

Katelyn joined RRS in the summer of 2024 as an Analyst after earning her Master’s degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability. Katelyn has a diverse background in energy and geopolitics research at a DC think tank, environmental curriculum development for k-12 students as a Climate Corps Fellow, and working with residents as an Account Manager for California’s very first Community Choice Aggregation program, a supplier of renewable energy. Katelyn has spent many years working as a server in the restaurant industry, where her interest in materials management and circularly began. Since 2020, Katelyn has focused on transitioning her career from energy to materials management. She recently worked with the City of Holland, Michigan as a Catalyst Leadership Circle Fellow where she developed a “Reuse, Recycle Starter Kit.” Katelyn co-founded “Trash Club” at the School for Environment and Sustainability, a student-led forum for circular economy-related learnings. She is fluent in Spanish.
