We are thrilled to announce that Erin Oulton, aN RRS consultant, was honored as one of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)’s Young Professionals of the Year for 2024.

SWANA’s Young Professional of the Year is a prestigious award recognizing Erin’s exceptional contributions to the solid waste and resource management industry, highlighting her commitment to advancing sustainable solutions and her leadership within the field.


A Decade of Experience and Achievement

Erin joined RRS with a decade of experience in solid waste, recycling, and sustainability. Her journey in the industry began at GT Environmental, where she specialized in solid waste planning, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Since joining RRS, Erin has spearheaded numerous high-impact projects across multiple states, from zero-waste initiatives to comprehensive solid waste management plan updates.


Inspiring and Driving the Industry Forward

Erin’s expertise extends beyond her work at RRS. She serves as the assistant treasurer for the Association of Ohio Recyclers and chairs SWANA’s Region 9 Young Professional Representatives, demonstrating her leadership and dedication to fostering growth and innovation within the industry.

Her recognition by SWANA is a testament to her hard work, performance, and unwavering dedication to the solid waste and resource management industry. This award not only celebrates her individual achievements but also underscores the importance of nurturing the next generation of professionals who are passionate about creating sustainable solutions.

Erin was formally recognized at SWANA’s annual conference, WASTECON 2024, in Grapevine, Texas, October 2025. We are incredibly proud of Erin’s accomplishments and are honored to have her as part of the RRS team.
