RRS collaborated with Oregon DEQ and CAA to develop and implement the state's first EPR program, delivering crucial insights and strategic plans for expanding recycling services statewide and ensuring Oregon's continued leadership in sustainability.
RRS partnered with Washtenaw County to develop and implement the Resilient Washtenaw project, delivering comprehensive strategies and actionable plans to enhance the county's environmental resilience. The project aims to support Washtenaw County's long-term goals for environmental stewardship and climate adaptability through community engagement, data-driven analysis and targeted sustainability initiatives.
RRS partnered with Maine's Department of Environmental Protection to study food loss and waste, providing critical insights for enhancing food recovery and food waste diversion, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project identified key areas for infrastructure improvements, guiding future efforts in sustainability across the state.
Facing interest from various campus entities for an expanded composting program, the University of Michigan needed to overcome limitations with the existing composter and sought RRS's expertise to study options for an all-encompassing program.
This multi-year project will include industry research, interviews, and surveys with relevant stakeholder groups to inform the design of the pilot program and packaging targets. The pilot program will support participants in their journey toward the adoption of sustainable packaging options.
RRS conducted extensive research on solid waste and recovery systems in 10 international markets to inform and advance Walmart's global zero waste objectives.
The RecycleCT Foundation, Inc. sought to better understand the economic contribution of residential recycling in Connecticut. The study’s findings have been released including the number of jobs, labor income, and economic output for the residential recycling sector in Connecticut.
