Ann Arbor, Mich., November 29, 2022 – Resource Recycling Systems Inc. (RRS) is thrilled to announce that its co-founder and CEO, Jim Frey has been named to the 2022 Environment+ Energy 50 Leader list honoring the top 50 environment and energy professionals.
For more than 40 years, Jim has provided technical expertise and strategic consulting in developing sustainable systems for a waste-free future. His career began with recycling programs from non-profit start-ups and grew to full-scale municipal collection services and material recovery facility operations. He has developed and managed projects of all sizes, including material recovery and solid waste management systems, recycling-based manufacturing, market development, corporate sustainability, policy and legislation, as well as public/private collaborative recovery initiatives.
Additionally, Jim is the creator behind RRS’ NextCycle concept – an initiative that identifies, recruits, vets and accelerates projects that focus on waste prevention, material reuse, recycling/composting collection and processing, and developing material end markets. NextCycle supports public and private initiatives with a measurable impact toward a circular economy.
“It is an honor to be recognized by Environment+Energy Leader. I share this recognition with the team at RRS and our clients that continue to innovate and collaborate toward a more sustainable and equitable world,” said Frey.
“The Honorees on the annual list show groundbreaking work and dedication to the field of sustainability and energy management,” says Sarah Roberts, Publisher of Environment+Energy Leader. “We’re thrilled to recognize this year’s Honorees and congratulate all who made the list.”
Now in its sixth year, the annual Environment+Energy Leader 50 recognizes those environment and energy “doers” who break trail in creating new solutions, programs, platforms, best practices and products to help their companies – or other companies – achieve greater success in commercial and industrial environment and energy management. And it doesn’t just celebrate the C-suite, but also those top managers and in-the-trenches team members who are working diligently behind the scenes and shaping the industry. Nominations are open to the public and the final honoree list is selected by Environment+Energy Leader.
